PROJECT Live, Laugh, Love | CLIENT Unionville Home Society | SERVICES Creative
The Unionville Home Society has been providing services for seniors for more than 50 years.
We were asked to create a film to screen at their annual gala dinner to help raise money and awareness of their unique and enriching programming for seniors. The central theme of this particular Gala was, “Home.”
The staff at UHS truly care about making the residents feel like it is more than just a housing facility. For example, many of the seniors in their care suffer from the effects of dementia and other mental impairments, so the staff plan recreational activities that have been proven to help with cognitive decline as well as combat depression and isolation. Without donations, the UHS team would not be able to offer these programs that residents both love and need.
Our challenge was to use this film to highlight the impact the staff and these programs have on residents in order to inspire people to donate.
We centered our film ‘Live, Laugh, Love’ around this year’s theme. Our team pursued an elegant and thoughtful approach, capturing candid and genuine moments between caregivers and residents as they went about their daily routines without being disrupted by our crew. The resulting film authentically tells the story of how the staff bonds with residents through a range of activities. As Shane, a caregiver, says, “you see gloom turns to light”. It’s clear from the look on his face this is a place where love lives. This is their home.
